Abstract The pairing correlation in nuclei causes a characteristic excitation, known as the pair vibration, which is populated by transfer reactions. Here we introduce new method of characterizing vibration employing an analogy to Higgs mode, emerges infinite superconducting/superfluid systems collective vibrational mode associated with amplitude oscillation Cooper condensate. idea formulated defining pair-transfer probe, operator, and then describing linear response strength function this probe. We will show that condensation energy can be extracted use sum static polarizability response. In order demonstrate validate method, perform for Sn isotopes numerical analysis based on quasi-particle random phase approximation Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov model. discuss possibility apply scheme experiment.

Energy density functional approach to superfluid nuclei.

We show that, within the framework of a simple local nuclear energy density functional (EDF), one can describe accurately the one- and two-nucleon separation energies of semimagic nuclei.
